Aid for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan

Donation protected
This page is dedicated to raising funds for survivors of Typhoon Haiyan.

As the Director of International Programs at Mount Saint Mary College, I know that people are going to contribute money to relief efforts and I would like you to consider donating to direct service instead of to larger NGOs and INGOs. 100% of the monies donated here will go directly to families in Bacolod City. While most of the attention and aid is going to Tacloban, there are huge number of other Islands that were equally hard hit and have even less access to the infrastructure needed to rebuild. Many of our friend's families have lost everything and their is little to rebuild- in fact they will be starting over.

Our goal is to raise $3,000.00 to be wired directly to these families. Updates will be sent as well as reports on how the monies are being utilized and who is benefiting from your donations. We are also working in close contact with the Philippine Nurses Association.

There has never been a disaster like this one. Typhoon Haiyan was 3.5 times the size of Hurricaine Katrina and estimated death tolls are up to 10,000-18,000 depending on new sources. Prior to the Typhoon making landfall news sources were reporting that the storm was taking aim at areas that were less populated. While this no doubt saved many lives it did not take into consideration that those areas that are less populated are also those with the least access to water, electricity, sanitation, hygiene, health care, education, new sources etc. Therefore in these areas the devastation will be total and rebuilding near impossible.

Please.

Please help us help these families.
