Support the Lubicon Legal Defence Fund
Our Youth Council is also heavily involved in protecting our lands and are locked in legal battles of their own with a neighbouring municipality who is trying to destroy their generations old ball diamond. Their video is above.
We are asking concerned members of the Indigenous rights, human rights and environmental movements, as peoples who have shared concern for the health and well being of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous lands, to make a donation to support the Lubicon Lake Nation citizens who are protecting our lands and waters.
Our Protectors of the Land require legal defence as well as support for the ongoing appeal of the injnction against them as well as funding support for the legal actions against Penn West Petroleum Ltd., Alberta and Canada.
On December 16, 2013, our Protectors of the Land were ordered by the COURT OF QUEENS BENCH not to blockade their own territory (which is the subject of an Alberta granted lease). In line with that decision, the Lubicon Lake Nation Protectors of the Land determined that protection of the territory is tantamount and that actions to protect the land and waters must continue.
Our fight continues. We respectfully ask you as allies and friends of Indigenous peoples, advocates for human rights, and protectors of the environment to make a donation in order that our Protectors can continue this important work.
Monetary donations to support the defence of our land is greatly appreciated. However, we value contributions of all kinds: time, efforts, and supplies as well.
Please contact us at the Lubicon Lake Nation if you would like to contribute in any way. In the alternative, you can also use this site to monetarily contribute to the continued efforts of the Lubicon Lake Nation Protectors of the Land.
Thank you for your time.
