Help with a abandoned FIV+ cat

Donation protected

Last fall, a mother cat and her two kittens appeared on my patio and were living under my sun porch. After months of trying to capture this family, I finally did. I got them vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV, and spayed/neutered. It just so happens they all are positive for FIV, which is just like HIV in humans. I've taken the cats into my home and have been caring for them for almost a year. Most shelters would've euthanized them because a) they have FIV and b) they were feral. I wanted to give them a chance at having a good life.

Fast forward to Friday, September 11, Toothless got ill. I took him to an emergency vet. After diagnostics and finding out nothing that was causing him to be sick, I took him home on meds and hoped for the best. He got sick again. I took him today to my Vet and his WBC count is low including some of the types of WBCs. Some are actually so low, they aren't even registering. The Vet believes it's due to FIV or an infection. He's on medication and going back for more bloodwork in 2 weeks.

I've acquired a lot of vet bills since Sept 12 and I'm a bit over my head and hoping someone will find it in their heart to help me help these abandoned cats at a healthy life.

Thank you for listening to Toothless' story and have a great day!!
