I am here doing something it pains me to do, which is ask for your help. I am a 23 year old college student at Towson University and just 3 weeks ago I rescued my puppy Roman (Rome) from a bad home where he was malnourished, and had a severe limp on his rear left leg. At the vet appointment we started the process of getting him up to date on his shots and getting his leg looked at when we found out the news that Rome has a heart murmur. We were told that he needed to see a cardiologist in order to see just how bad it was, and if he would even be able to go under anesthesia in order to get neutered one day, or have knee surgery if needed. Well a week later as I sat in the cardiologist office watching my pup get an ultrasound, the worst was revealed. His heart had major issues. The exact diagnosis states severe congenital valvular pulmonic stenosis (PS), severe ventricular hypertrophy, moderate right atrial dilation, moderate pulmonic valve insufficiency, and tricuspid valve regurgitation. Long story short, at only 6 months of age, I am facing the right side of my dogs heart failing without this surgery he needs known as Balloon Valvuloplasty. This procedure has a very high success rate and can help fix my pups heart so that he can live out his life as a happy pup as opposed to being cut short by heart failure. It saddens me so much to think of losing him, and bothers me just as much asking for your help. Any donations will help more than you can imagine. Again I am a college student who loves animals more than most people honestly. They never steer you wrong and just want love and attention. Sadly this procedure is $4,500. I struggle to make sure he has the very best food and vet care he can have, but this surgery just isn't possible without a miracle. Please help in anyway you can.
