We are the Zeta Sigma Chapter of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and we are on a mission to help raise money for our philanthropic partner, Girls on the Run Columbia! This year for our annual Crescent Classic Fundraiser we are hosting the University of South Carolina's first ever G PHI JOE Relay Competition. All of the proceeds from our event, including sponsors, percent nights, and registration sales, will go towards our philanthropic partner.
Our event, G PHI JOE, is on Saturday November 7. This page was created for organizations or individuals who are not able to attend the event, but still feel moved to help our mission of building strong girls & helping Girls on the Run Columbia continue their influential program.
Girls on the Run is the first of an entirely new type of recreation program that combines physical training for a non-competitive 3.1 mile running event with warm-ups, team-building activities, discussions and workouts age-appropriate to 3rd-8th grade girls. It is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences.
These competencies are most often referred to as life skills. These skills include interpersonal skills, how to have healthy relationships, how to have positive body image and how to be motivated to life a healthy life.
Our chapter has several sisters who serve as Girls on the Run Coaches and running buddies year round. This organization is held near and dear in our hearts and we would love to fundraise and help this organization as much as possible! It would mean the world to the women of the Zeta Sigma Chapter of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority if you would donate to our philanthropy fundraiser today. Any donation would help tremendously.
