Gage's BMT Journey

As many of you may know, January 2015, my son, Gage, was diagnosed with CGD (Chronic Granulomatous Disease). Its an immune disease. His white blood cells don't produce hydrogen peroxide to fight off bacteria and fugus. He only has 5% of working enzymes that fight that bacteria and fugus, which puts him at the higher end of the spectrum, meaning he is more likely to get severly sick. The National Institute of Health said the better bet would be for us to go for the cure, a bone marrow transplant. Gage will start the procedure in March or April, just after is 3rd birthday. I will have to stop working, during his stay in the hospital, and after because his immune system could take a year to be where it should be. So any little bit helps, things are going to be rough for a while and its all falling on Todd, Gage's father, and his checks alone won't be enough. Thank you everyone for reading my story.
