Around the beginning of February, our son was unexpectedly taken from us.
The day we were planning to pick him up for his great grandmothers funeral, we had learned that his biological mother had just been arrested for possession of meth, and unfortunately, Mikiah had to be the one to answer the door.
Mikiah had to witness his step father being escorted away by the police, CPS were called and though they were told that were were his parents also, they called his grandmother instead, because in the eyes of the law we don’t count, Minnesota didn’t recognize same sex parentage at the time of Abbey and Kristi’s divorce.
So Mikiah went home with his grandmother, where he has been for the last 8 months while we have been fighting and exhausting every avenue, trying to get him back.
Mikiah has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and anxiety. His grandmother doesn’t ensure that he wears his AFOs or that he takes his anti epileptic medications, which are very important for his quality of life.

We have had a restraining order placed against us with the sole intention of keeping us away from Mikiah and the case, which we fought and had dropped. Our next step is to be a party of the case and get visitation with Mikiah so that we can get him out of neglectful care and back into a stable home environment.
In order to do so, we need $3000 for legal fees.

Please consider donating, even a dollar helps, and if you can’t, share. It’ll help more than you can imagine.

With love,
