Help send these boys to Summer Camp

This school year my husband, Justin, started a new position helping to start a multi-needs special education program in the middle school.  This program focuses on a lot of things that most of us take for granted.  For example, Justin and his staff, teach students how to take showers, brush their teeth, make simple recipes for lunch/snack, and go out into the community to shop all while still trying to teach functional academics (i.e., money/math, reading safety signs) to the students. 

Within the class, there are 2 students whose families demonstrate extreme financial assistance.  One of the families also has another son at another school within the school district.  These boys need the structure, routines, support, and services that a summer camp can offer them for an extended time while the school is off for summer break.  Summer school programs only typically last 3 weeks and that leaves almost 8 weeks of unstructured time that will allow for regression from all the progress made this last school year. The camp is differentiated and each of the 3 boys will have their own experience based on disability and need  

This year has been quite a challenge with these families between private family issues at home, moving into safe housing, dealing with behaviors at home that are managed in school. These boys have shown such promise and success from having classrooms, teachers, friends, and an administration dedicated to making all students successful that it would be a shame to not offer that same type of structure and commitment throughout the summer.

In IL we have fantastic special recreation programs. They offer a full day summer camp for kids with disabilities. Through funding from the special recreation we have come up with 70% of the summer tuition costs to get these 3 boys to summer camp.  We need to help raise $1500 more in order to completely cover the cost.
