Thanksgiving Fire

Donation protected
Hi my name is Monica, as most of you know on thanksgiving morning my moms store caught fire.  As our family tries to piece together what happened, we our reaching out to our community for monetary donations for my mom, as she is at a complete loss with no fire insurance in place. Id like to share some words from my older sister Jessica.

It is with sadness in our hearts that tragically on Thanksgiving morning around 8 a.m. 4 Kids’ Sake caught on fire. Originally started and owned by Robin Sisemore, she opened up a small corner children’s consignment shop on Silverado Trail in the early 1990’s. A children’s consignment shop was just what Napa needed. With so many local patrons 4 Kids’ Sake grew to be a one stop shop! After many years in business Robin sold the store to Malinda Macias who moved the store to a Solano Avenue location, but soon outgrew the building, before moving it to its current Tanen St. location. As fast as Napa had grown so did 4 Kids’ Sake. Malinda went into business with her four daughters and a family friend who all helped run the store. It was a family business making a difference for the Napa community. Malinda was able to help by donating to local Catholic charities and then to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church who came weekly for a truckload of donations that was redistributed back into the community. She was always willing to help a family in need by putting aside clothing, toys, and baby equipment ready to give out or by giving a discounted price whenever possible. Not only giving back to the community was important, but the friendships that have been made with our consignors and shoppers over the many years of having the store open. We all have been able to watch each-others children grow inside this store. This Thanksgiving’s day fire was not the only tragedy that 4 Kids’ Sake has suffered only after a few short months of moving the store to its Tanen St. location Napa was hit with a flood and lost many of its consignor’s and personal belongings, we were able to clean up and salvage enough items to keep the store going. Then just a couple of years ago Napa had its 6.0 earthquake and again 4 Kids’ Sake was at a loss of many items and after a clean-up, we were able to open the store. Since there was no fire insurance in place, 4 Kids’ Sake is at complete loss of everything, there is going to be many out of pocket expenses, unfortunately we do not know what the future for 4 Kids’ Sake will be at this time. Any donation is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
