Baby Benjamin

My son Spencer and his girlfriend Sara are a special needs couple who, unexpectedly, are now expecting a baby boy. They know they are not able to provide all the things a baby needs, so they have opted for an open adoption. My brother suggested that we consider his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Lori Konopasek. They have been trying to have a child for years and have had a roller-coaster of emotions in the process. They have tried in vitro and lost multiple babies after a few months. They are an amazing couple, and it didn’t take long for both Spencer and Sara to decide they wanted them to adopt the baby boy due in March.

We realized in this process that adoption is not as easy as we expected and the costs are significantly higher than we imagined. I don’t want to place that burden on a loving couple that is already signing on to provide a safe and loving home to this baby boy. I decided to try to establish this Go Fund Me to help with the expenses of a legal adoption so that we can get baby Benjamin (the name they chose) placed with Dan and Lori without them needing to accrue another large debt. They have not asked for this, but it is something I’d like to see if together we can help them in this tangible area as they begin this journey of adopting Benjamin.
