Stella's Scoliosis Treatment Fund

Hello friends and family,On March 14th we received the news that Stella has scoliosis. The curve in her spine was already bordering severe, and due to her age, there is a 100% chance that it will progress since she will be going through another growth spurt soon. Curve progression can lead to serious developmental problems with her lungs and heart. We were told that even with conventional bracing, she will most likely need surgery due to the fact that it will progress.
Based on the fact that conventional bracing was ineffective in correcting the curve, we researched and found a doctor on the east coast who specialized in asymmetrical bracing, an innovative method designed to overcorrect the curve.
Stella has been in her brace since April 4th and after a new xray taken August 29th, we received the news that her curve has progressed by 9 degrees (meaning it's gotten much worse).
We have found a different doctor and very promising program in San Jose, CA that focuses on addressing the root cause of scoliosis and not simply the symptoms. The obstacle is that this doctor is out-of-network, so the treatment program and individualized equipment will not be covered by insurance.
Here are links to the amazing progress of other patients and some more information on scoliosis and their program:

We are hoping to raise enough money to cover the expenses to meet with this doctor, undergo individualized treatment, and give Stella the chance to overcome scoliosis without needing surgery.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this and for any donation that you can afford.
Sincerely,
Rick, Lita and Stella
