48 Hours In The Jungle

We four, are raising money and aid for a cause that is very close to our hearts. We will be going over to spend a weekend volunteering in the Calais Jungle camp which is currently home to 5,000 people, including new-borns and the elderly. 

The condition of the camp is appalling, not fit for human habitation, it has been compared to the Mumbai slums. Women and young girls have no sanitation, and children are walking through the muddy tent-city with no shoes or clothes that fit them. 

With 100 new arrivals every day, and no where to sleep them, aid is desperately needed. 

This humanitarian crisis has hit a chord with me as my grandparents were refugees from Germany in WW2, their parents were murdered there. These people are no different and they currently have nothing. 
Many have been seperated from their families, and the children in particular are at risk of traffickers. 

The money donated will provide food for the jungle kitchen, buy clothes and shoes for those with none, essential sanitary items, and shelters. We would be sincerely grateful for any donation given, as this is truly a worthy cause.
