My Stenden journey of a thousand miles
Funny how life can teach you to expect the unexpected in just a small amount of time. Never in my life did I think that I would be worrying about not being able to pursue my bachelors degree in International Hospitality Management. When I started my 4 year study program at Stenden University in Septemper 2013, my family as well as my country of origin (Zimbabwe) were in a very stable place. Ours has always been a humble life with just enough to get by, but with the current unemployment situation in Zimbabwe both my parents have been made redundant for almost a year now, yet still seeking employment although thousands of people continue to be layed off as the days go by.
It is hard to sustain life espcially coming from a family of 4 children who are all in different stages of their schooling life and with no source of income. Especially being in the middle of the road of my studies, I find myself asking whether this is the end of the road for me, or finding another solution to aid in finishing my study program. Hence why I am here today as a passionate student running out of options. I have also attached a link of the blogs, I have written as a way of promoting my University and also a hobby to inspire other students of similar background to dare to dream big.
I wont take much more of your time, but hope that with the brief explanation, you can find it in your heart to help me get to the end of my university journey as I imagined, graduating infront of my friends and family and having the opportunity to make something out of myself.
For further transparency I have included the breakdown of my essential expenses:
remaining tuition 2015/2016 - 1920 euros
Tuition fees 2016/2017 - 7480 euros
Accomodation 20 months - 6000 euros
Living expenses 20 months - 4000euros
