Help a Father Keep His Daughter

Donation protected

Becoming a dad is one of the greatest gifts a man can receive. You learn to grow up and become responsible for someone else besides yourself. Changing your focus, energy, and love to be there for THEM.  Unfortunately, my parents were divorced so I didn’t get to see my own dad very much. I made a commitment to myself that no matter what happens in my life I will always be active and involved in my children’s’ lives.

Let me start by giving you a little background to my story.  I served active duty with the ARMY for over 13 years and would have retired, but decided I wanted to have a wife and kids.  Military life is not ideal for young families. I found a new job and got married. When we found out she was expecting I had to travel a lot for work, but I made sure to be present for all the doctors’ visits and support her through the pregnancy. After my daughter was born I looked for a non-traveling job so I could be there to care for my family and be present every day! After several job interviews I finally landed a position at a nice company with great benefits. The only downfall – it required a move from FL to GA. As a family we made a decision to move forward for the betterment of our baby.  I thought everything was going well until now.

After 9 years of devoting myself to my soon to be ex-wife she requested a ‘break’ the day after Christmas of 2016.  She said it would be a good idea for us to work on individual and relationship issues we were experiencing. I stayed true to the vows we made as husband a wife and wanted to work things out. I even attended individual counseling to help our situation; but she wouldn’t go to marriage counseling with me. Shortly after we separated I found out she was being unfaithful and had an affair. I’m not writing this to bash or slander her in anyway, just stating the facts.

Next came the divorce papers and more hurt. After disgracing our marriage, she continued the heartless act of lying in her statement to try and keep my daughter away from her loving father.  She requested full custody which would only give me visitation. She fabricated the worksheet for child support stating that I make thousands more than I actually do. This would result in a VERY high monthly payment that I wouldn’t be able to afford.  In GA, once papers have been served you have 30 days to respond or the petitioner wins by default and is granted everything in their request. The most upsetting thing is not the money, but not being able to ‘see’ my daughter on a frequent basis. I don’t want to risk losing her by trying to respond to this alone, so I’ve found a lawyer to help me. I feel this is the best chance I have for a successful case against my soon to be ex. The lawyer requests 4,000 up front to retain their services.  They then pull from this balance through the trial and I am responsible for monthly payments to keep the balance at 4,000.  I don’t have the means to pay this money up front, and am in an urgent need as I only have 30 days to respond. With a humble heart I’m asking for help to raise this money so I can keep my daughter in my life. I can’t lose her and am doing everything I can to protect her.

Thank you for reading my story and I pray that somehow this all works out!
