Refugee futsal players need support

Donation protected
The majority of these teenagers are refugees and their families do not have the financial means to cover their Futsal fees, so on behalf of Aletti Kenmore FC, we are looking for community sponsorship and donations to cover their costs of:

· Futsal shoes (how fast kids feet grow)
· Player kits (these kids are going to be taller in no time)
· Player Registration and Membership fees
· Tournament entry fees (one comp just completed, and the next one starting soon)
· Other incidental costs

UPDATE: They have not played Futsal before and they have just won their first tournament...keep reading to find out more :)

UPDATE: DONATIONS TO DATE
One of the Aletti Kenmore FC Open mens sponsor, Tribal Sports has kindly donated the St James College kids their Aletti Kenmore FC Under 15 kits.

A massive thank you to Tribal Sports for their kind donation. I wish everyone could have seen the smiles on their faces. One of the teachers said "It would be like Christmas to them...what an amazing gift they have all been given".

Some of them will need more kits before the year is out as these kids won't stop growing!!

(After being presented with their new Aletti kits. They couldn't wait to wear them)

SOME OF THE PLAYERS
We had the privilege of interviewing 3 of the 10 young talented players, and here is a bit about their story. (Interview and photography approval granted from the boys’ families and St James College).

They are refugees.
They left their country of birth due to war.
Their families wanted a better lifestylefor their children.
They have all played soccer for most of their life.
They all want to be pro footballers.
They have never played futsal before.

WHY THE KIDS NEED THE FUNDS
Scott Prickett, head coach at St James College said, “We don’t have a lot for them, so for them to play club futsal…….costs money, and with their backgrounds and their stories, finances are always a big thing.” Simply put, the families don’t have access to the funds to support these kids to play sport.

THE COMPETITION
The newly formed Aletti U15 team have now completed the Series Futsal Queensland Competition and were undefeated.Last weekend these Aletti Kenmore FC U15’s successfully completed the Series Futsal Queensland U15 Competition, winning the final 12-2 against Church of England Grammar School.

(Under 15 Superliga Champions at QSFC Carina 9/2/19)

Did we forget to mention they have NEVER PLAYED FUTSAL BEFORE!!!

(Can't stop smiling after scoring another goal)

Yes, these teenagers have only recently been introduced to Futsal since starting at St James College.Scott had mentioned the team’s goal was to make the top four in the first season. They well and truly surpassed that goal. Scott also said “So for us to have the opportunity here at St James to have your (Aletti Kenmore FC) support, as (for) the club to have faith in these boys to go out and represent your club means a lot to them, (it) means that they will show up every week and are happy to play, and happy to wear the jersey and put their name on it as well.” We need your support to cover the season’s costs, and the next upcoming competition. With your support this dedicated team can hopefully continue on their futsal journey.

(Lots of smiling faces after the final with St James College Principal Ms  Rebgetz, Coach Scott,  Aletti FC Co-owners Drew Evans, Mike & Sam Reid, also supporting the Junior players were some of Aletti Kenmore FC Open mens players Will, Adam & Dane. A massive thank you to Assistant Coach James and Team Manager/Bus Drive Alex who escaped the paparazzi)

WITH THANKS
We would like to thank everyone at St James College, especially Scott Prickett, for your unwavering support and we thank you for your trust in Aletti Kenmore FC to help make a difference in these kids’ lives. We wish them all the very best success in the next series of competitions, and we’re delighted to have these talented people wearing the Aletti Kenmore kit.

WHAT TO DO NOW
Thank you for taking the time to learn about these talented young teenagers, and any amount you can spare will make a difference. Please donate and also share this on your Facebook page and send the link to your network.

We want to help these children succeed, and with your support we can. Any funds received over the budgeted amount will go towards next year’s fees….and probably more boots. How quickly kids grow!!!
