St. James Lutheran Paper/Personal Pantry

St. James Lutheran Paper and Personal Products Pantry is a service to help our neighbors within and surrounding Western Springs. Twice a month St. James hosts the Paper Pantry which gives one bag per family of items that they cannot buy with their link cards or due to a shortage of funds for a variety of reasons. Each bag supplies laundry detergent, dish and bar soap, shampoo, deodorant, toilet paper, paper towels, feminine products and if we can, we like to add toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotions and diapers. The Pantry opened in October 2012 and we started small but are now helping 60 to 75 families each time... that's 150 families a month! Each time more families sign up, also. St. James is great supplying the space and volunteers to work twice a month. Each bag costs at least $8.00 to fill and giving away 150 bags a month adds up real fast. Anything you can give helps.
