I am starting this Go Fund Me for my sister-in-law Rebecca Stephan age 42, who was diagnosed with a very rare Mucinous Ovarian Cancer, December 9th, 2016. Please take a minute to read her story and see if God would have you help in anyway.
This all started for Rebecca, December 6th, 2016. It was a Tuesday and she had gone to work that day. She was so uncomfortable at work she knew something was wrong. After work she went home, changed her clothes and drove herself to the ER. After having a scan done of her abdomen the ER doctor said she needed to see an oncologist right away. The next day she saw the oncologist and he scheduled the mass to be taken out on the 9th. He said she shouldn’t worry as the odds of it being cancer was less than .5%. Rebecca went into surgery Friday having told her kids that she would probably be home that night. When she woke up from surgery she was told that the biopsy of the mass came back cancerous and they had removed her ovaries, fallopian tubes, appendix, and lymph nodes and done a full hysterectomy. The mass they had removed was volleyball size and while taking out the mass it had broken and therefore had spread into her bloodstream. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Mucinous Carcinoma but they weren’t exactly sure where it came from. It is a rare cancer where only 50 people in the world have been studied with it. After surgery Rebecca had many complications as her body struggled to heal. She was in and out of the hospital for over a month and was finally discharged for the final time January 12, 2017.
Her oncologist wanted her to start chemo right away which didn’t make sense as she was continuing to lose weight after the hospital and her digestive system was continuing to struggle. She knew if she did chemo for the next 6 months it would continue to tear down her body and possibly kill her. She began to look elsewhere for treatment options and flew down to see Colleen Huber, NMD, Medical Director of Nature Works Best Cancer Clinic in Tempe, Az. As soon as she met her she knew this is where she wanted to be treated. Also, the percentages of doing treatment with Doctor Huber were better for her than with her oncologist. Unfortunately, because it is alternative medicine her insurance company denied paying for treatment at this clinic. This is frustrating as it is cheaper than chemo would cost the insurance company. It is now a financial hardship on them to have no help from insurance with any of the cost of treatment. After much prayer over the situation, Rebecca and her husband Jason felt God leading them to Arizona to start treatment with Nature Works Best Cancer Clinic.
The treatments include: High dose Vitamin C with anticancer nutrients such as cesium, rubidium, DMSO and sodium bicarbonate, which alkalinize cancer cells, B vitamins to enhance the work of Vitamin C and minerals and amino acids, as well as selenium and glutathione. This is all done intravenously. She is also taking a variety of other supplements to help build her body up and fight cancer.
She and her husband, Jason, decided to move from Colorado to Arizona the first of March so she could start treatment and be close to the clinic and Dr. Huber. This has been difficult for both of them as they have 3 children Sierra age 18, Drew age 14 and Drake age 12. The kids did not make the move to Arizona with them at this time. They are staying with Rebecca's sister and finishing up the school year in Colorado. They miss them terribly and are relying on God to help them through this transition.
Rebecca just did her first treatment Tuesday March 7 and is feeling great! She will be doing treatments 3 times a week for the next 12 weeks. She knows her body will continue to keep getting better with this treatment.
I am 1st asking that you would pray for Rebecca, Jason and there 3 children daily. We are asking God to heal Rebecca's body completely! We are also praying that God would supply all there needs financially as he has already began to do. 2nd I am asking that you would consider giving financially to help cover the cost of treatment and supplements. We know God is in control and has lead them to Arizona and he will provide for their needs.
