For the loved ones of Andrew Ashcraft
The goal of this fund is to help with all the living expenses that a family of this size can generate.
Thank you for your donation, no matter the size.
To everyone who has offered services, prayers, support, love, and encouragement to our family during this extremely difficult time...THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. As tragic as our loss has been, we have been humbled and overwhelmed by the outpouring of kindness and love from the members of our community, our state, and all around the world. We have been carried through our darkest hours and buoyed up by your strength, your faith, and your generosity. Please know that your acts of kindness, however large or small, have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated. We want to express our love and appreciation to all of you and we will strive to "pay-it-forward" in the future just as you have served all of us.
In Humble Gratitude,
The Family of Fallen Hero, Andrew Sterling Ashcraft
Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts!
Is this still active. I want to donate some more money but want to make sure Juliann and her kids get it??
Hi Angela, I found this article and watched the youtube videos that were attached...I think it would be good to let Juliann know about it have have a look at it. It addresses the deficiencies in the official report. It smells of a cover up of the state by its mistakes - mistakes that led to the tradedy that occurred. This wouldn't be the first time the state tried to cover their tracks - they did the same with the 30 Mile and South Canyon Fires. Justice needs to be done for these 19 men, so that the truth can be told. God bless. http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2013/10/yarnell_hill_fire_investigation_granite_mountain_hotshots.php
I'm so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you and your children. I make handmade memorial picture frames. I would like to make one for your family.
The sweet family portraits are so touching and my heart aches for your family's loss. I pray that God is holding all of you close and that His love and comfort will sustain you and give you great strength throughout east day.
The power of the people!
May God be with you and your family always. Star Donuts ( Lakewood, CA)
Very sorry for you and your family, my father was an LACo Captain for 30 yrs. Passed away from health issues from the fire fight. 51 yrs old. My mother panicked because she didn't know what to do. But with all the fear of the unknown, everything turned out just fine. You and your family will be ok. We will never forget. s go out to all.
I said "Love and Daily Strength to Angela and the kids" in my donation! I meant Juliann
Angela, I so admire your father for standing up to the city who refuses to pay Andrews's death benefits!! Change.org does work. Thank you for sharing gofundme. God will provide whatever Andrew's family needs! The family is beautiful and so is yours.
Have you and anyone created a page for them on Facebook? I know it is probably the first place many people go to connect to her. I know it was for me. A link to this site on the FB page under her name would probably generate so much more traffic. I am so sorry for this loss. I also am a mother of 4 children and mine look the same ages as their kids. I am brought to tears about this and can just imagine how she must be feeling. I know her husband would want more than anything, for them to be taken care of financially. It breaks my heart that they are not. That would be one of my husbands first thoughts if he were to lose his life. If anyone thinks she is wanting "money", they are heartless and do not understand the realities of having a mother and children dependent on one income. I truly hope no one is thinking that way. I pray that you guys are abundantly blessed and that Jesus heals her heart as well as the children's. I know He is scooping them up even now, and holding them extra close. All my love, The Taylor Family
I would certainly like to donate! Is there any way to verify this is legitimate?
I would like to say that I am very glad that you have taken this into your own hands. I am sick to my stomach thinking that not all the money raised is going to the families. I have four kids and god forbid if anything ever happened to my husband, I know that I would need a lot of help too. I shared this website in hopes that you do reach your goal and that the Ashcraft family and the other families that lost their loved ones do receive all the money donated. Good luck to all of you and your family will be in our thoughts.
I have been covering the donations in the wake of the Yarnell fire for 12 News. I saw your post yesterday regarding money not reaching families and questions about the City of Prescott's actions. I'd like to talk to you in more detail about that. How can I reach you? Best, Brahm Resnik 12 News/KPNX TV 602 444 1365
I posted this story to our newscasters and my friend, Lin Sue Cooney's page this is what she wrote me back. " we have done a story on the part-time versus full-time benefits... but did not have specifics. Would love to do a story on the Ashcraft situation if any family members feel comfortable addressing this with us." So please message her on her FB page if you all as a family would really like to get your word out there. Lin Sue is really wanting to help you all! My heart goes out to the Ashcraft and all families involved.. Also my friend Lynne R. Kean is a food truck owner and they are putting together a fundraiser with all food trucks for the families. FB her also maybe your family would like to come and be involved with it all. It will be at the Hall of Flames on Sept. 7.. I wish you all peace in your hearts.. Cathee
killed lodd in August 2008 (Iron 44 incident) I know how crfazy things get during times like this. The public in general is so very awesome to want to help but your comments are so true. On the families behalf I tried to be a voice regarding the teespring t-shirt sales. Please tell me if the families DO get this money because I would like to believe it but I do not think Wildland Firefighter Foundation will turn it all over to the families - if any. It said clearly it was going to WFF but people kept saying it was going to the families and I tried to wave a ed flag. Hopefully Iwas wrong. I know the Junction City, California Community did a huge fundraiser for the families in our tragedy - and the families never saw any of the money. So very sad. As your family heals (which is a very, very long journey and it never comes totally to an end) if you feel the passion I would suggest trying to put something in place for future tragedies and fundraising efforts. We have put our passions into several areas which we feel strongly about . Do you know if the crew will be available for Public Safety Officer Benefits (PSOB). Icananswer questions about that since we have had experience with that. The National Fallen Firefighter Foundation is a great oreganization that truly helps families and offers a lot of healing support. There are comfort camps for children, conferences for all survivors (wives, siblings, parents). Lots of support. Again so sorry for your loss. If I can help in any way please let me know. In many ways our tragedy was so very much like your only 5 years earlier.
I amso, so very sorry for your loss and so sorry to hear this. My son was a Wildland Firefighter
We are beyond overwhelmed with the amazing support from our community and even beyond this community. People from all over the world are showing their love and support for not only our family, but all of the families of these fallen heros. We want to all say THANK YOU and you have no idea how much we appreciate you all. On behalf of the Andrew and Juliann's families, truly, thank you!
