My name is Rachel, I am Cathy's oldest child and I've decided to reach out to support my Mom & Dad in anyway I can during this challenging time in their lives.
Cathy is a wife to Henry of 36 years, a mother to Rachel & Ryan, a mother-in-law to Zack and soon to be Molly, and new grandmother to Ava. Ava was born 2 days after Cathy's 1st surgery, so she has not yet met her first and only grandchild. Cathy is an ESL teacher for high school students & a real-estate agent as well. Her hobbies include taking pictures, watching sports with her family, & helping others as often as possible. She truly is an angel.
When Cathy found out she had a cancerous polyp that needed to be removed, she scheduled her surgery and expected to be in the hospital for 4 nights and at home for 4-6 weeks after, for further healing. Unfortunately things have not gone as planned and she has now been in the hospital for over 3 weeks, and the doctors informed us today that they expect her to be in the hospital another 2-3 weeks. After that she will need to either be in rehab for a while to help get her strength back or have in home care.
She has insurance as well as a cancer policy, however she will not be able to work either of her jobs during this time. Henry has taken off from work a great deal as well. We are so thankful for family and friends who have contributed time, energy, thoughts, prayers, etc.
The money raised for Cathy's Medical Funds will be used for just that. Again, we expected for Cathy to be in the hospital for less than a week and we are now anticipating around 6 weeks time before she is discharged.
**Cathy is still in the hospital and Henry & Cathy are already receiving medical bills in the mail.**
I, along with my family, would be incredibly grateful for any donation you feel is appropriate to give. Our family strongly believes in prayers, and we know this is all in God's hands. We are all so thankful for those who choose to pray for Cathy and our family.
My dad, Henry, is very busy and I ask if you want to reach out with questions or comments to please contact me directly. I may not reply right away, as I am caring for my newborn baby Ava, but I will do my best. I will also do my best to keep you all updated with Cathy's progress on here.
