Julia vs. Encephalitis
My best friend, Julia King, is fighting a life threatening debilitating and rare illness "anti-nmda receptor encephalitis" and has lost two jobs as a result. I have set up this fundraiser for her to help ease the financial burden while she fights this illness with a scary prognosis. This is a rare illness that can take months or even years for sufferers to fully recover from.
Throughout 2016 Julia was in and out of hospital receiving treatment including an initial five days of plasma infusions, three days of steroids and two rounds of chemotherapy. She has recently suffered a relapse; again losing employment and spending time in hospital having another five days of plasma infusions. She is still waiting to see the specialist neuroimmunologist and is unsure of when she can return to full time work.
Unfortunately Julia has a high chance of ongoing relapse episodes. Her symptoms include memory loss, confusion, fevers, loss of feeling in limbs, slurred speech, uncontrollable emotions, headaches, nose bleeds, nausea, hallucinations, fast heart rate and chest pains. The last time she lost her job due to this ilness she was off work for four and a half months.
I believe that we can make 2017 a great year by helping those around us who are struggling, whether it be Julia or someone else who is close to your heart. Please share and make a donation if you are able.
Thank you,
Danni xxx
