Memorial For Baby Maxwell-Simbo

On Wednesday 7th of September we received the devastating news that our babies heartbeat had stopped at 11 weeks 6 days. I would never be able to explain to you the emotions I felt on the day. - my heart was broken. During my stay at Croydon University hospital my ordeal was unquestionably the worst experience of my life. Nothing was explained to me, I had catering staff telling me I was having surgery, a porter placing me outside special care with new babies being pushed around while I waited to see how much of my baby was left inside my womb and so much more. I have started a petition to make the NHS have a better protocol when deal with a loss of a baby. After I made a complaint, they have now implemented a care box given to families who have lost a baby, more information given about any procedures that might take place and training for nurses to show more compassion. During this time I should of signed a form to give permission for the hospital to send off the babies remains to be tested. Sadly I didn't get asked to do this and they did it anyway. This test revealed that the remains taken during my surgery contained the remains of my pregnancy but the baby had already passed. Because of this Croydon university will not cremate my baby and will not give me the needed legal form called an appendix 1 to arrange this myself. So what do they expect me to do with my baby that has already been handed over to me? I would like to now purchase something of remembrance to be planted at Croydon crematorium to have a place of remembrance for this little miracle that was taken from me too soon but was so very much loved. There are several options - a rose bush in the region of £400 to a tree in the region of £1500. Sadly due to sick days taken because of the loss of our baby it isn't possible to purchase this by myself, if anyone would like to help from the bottom of my heart I thank you.
