My name is Katrina Brown I live in Sunderland. I have been given a huge opportunity to assist with Project Gambia in the Gunjar region of the Gambia in West Africa in March 2016 for 2 weeks.
This is something I have wanted to get involved with for many years, however family commitments have prevented me so this means a lot to me to be able to finally help make a difference in a country less fortunate than ours.
I am raising money to help me fund the trip as all volunteers are self funded the trip in total is £1300, I have already raised £500 so I really need help to raise the £800. Anything over and above this that is raised will go straight to Project Gambia. I need to raise this money before the end of December.
I have arranged to do a Ghost Hunt on Halloween at The Schooner Hotel in Alnwick in Northumberland, and I am asking for you to sponsor me in this challenge as it will be very scary for me as I have a genuine fear of the supernatural.
The Schooner Hotel has experienced murder, suicide, and massacre during its 400 year history. It has twice been awarded the title of the Most Haunted Hotel in Great Britain by the Poltergeist Society. It is said to be home to over sixty individual ghosts and there have been over 3000 recorded sightings within the last decade.
I am staying in room 30 on my own, visitors have reported feeling sick or dizzy when staying in this room and as soon as they leave they are inexplicably fine. Visitors to room 30 have complained of a drastic drop in temperature, and when they have tried to leave the room they have found it locked and they have been unable to unlock it. Then, to their absolute horror, they have seen a dark shadowy figure in the room with them. It is said that a man committed suicide in room 30, it is possible that this is the phantom that haunts it to this day.

Project Gambia is a not-for-profit voluntary organisation based in the North of England in the city of Sunderland that aims to improve the quality of life for families and local communities in the Gunjur region of The Gambia, West Africa.
Our days whilst in Gunjur will be busy helping in the community in schools, renovations, health projects, sports projects
