“The hardest thing I’ve ever had to hear was that my child died…my only child. The hardest thing I’ll ever have to do is live with the fact that I’ll never see him again.”
These are the words of a mother who was notified that her 26-year-old son, Faiyaz Narinedatt was viciously murdered in the middle of the night on November 1st, 2016 in No. 70 Village, Corentyne Berbice, Guyana. Faiyaz was a father, a son, a husband, a cousin, a nephew, a friend to so many people, and was taken from this world entirely too soon. He was the one that took care of his family’s every need, every day and was the glue that reminded them to always stick together. His love was unconditional and pure.
Faiyaz leaves behind his parents, Zafar and Pamie Narinedatt, his wife, Pooja, and two young children, 2-year-old Aftab and a 6-month-old daughter, Aasimah. Thanks to the strong and visceral reaction and response from the local community in Corentyne, BerbiceGuyana and abroad, the fight for justice continues. In an attempt to further support the family, we are humbly asking for your assistance to help alleviate some of the financial burdens the Narinedatt’s now face. These include:
• Expenses associated with taking care of the children to ensure their basic necessities are met (food, clothing, childcare)
• Expenses incurred in handling affairs associated with Faiyaz's death
• Any and all remaining funds will be allocated to a college/trust fund which will assist in paying for the children's education
While nothing will make it easier and no financial status will help take away their grief, it will definitely decrease the weight of financial stress. If you cannot contribute financially but would still like to help, please share this story so we can reach as many people as possible.
