30 for 30: Help Children Thrive

In 2010 I went to Guatemala City not knowing what to expect. 7 years later, at 30 years old, I get the opportunity to be the Director of an organization, Planting Seeds, with one of my best friends Shannon Moyle. The organization has been improving the educational landscape in Guatemala by providing excellent Early Childhood Education and training teachers from all over the country. Our philosophy centers around building a strong understanding of how children truly learn, building excitement for learning, and developing the whole child.
Planting Seeds wants to extend its reach in the communities we serve by developing a community center and more parental support to provide families living in extreme poverty with the training and resources they need to create positive changes in their lives, families, and community.
For my 30th birthday, I would like to ask you to be a part of this opportunity and make a donation to Planting Seeds to help continue its work in early education and provide more opportunities through our new Community Center. In order to open the community center and expand our early childhood programming, we need to raise $300,000 by the end of 2017. To jumpstart our fundraising campaign, we are asking everyone to donate $1 for every year of my life, $30! For those who are able and willing, larger contributions are welcome as well to help us reach our goal of $30,000 by the end of January. As an addition to your donation, we would like to ask for your support in two ways
1. Share this with your network of friends, family, and co-workers, encouraging them to donate to this event.
2. Use your birthday as a platform for people to donate to our 30 for 30 event. Contact me if you would like to support Planting Seeds with your birthday.
