Free Food Ministries is an independent food pantry founded in 2016 The free food tent is a tent located on SW Gaarde ST in Tigard, where we offer free produce, non perishables and other food and non food items.
Our services are open to anyone in need regardless of demographics. We are unaffiliated with the Oregon Food Bank and as such our visitors are allowed to come to us as often as they need.
We currently work with multiple other agencies. These agencies include the local school district, Home Plate (a service center for homeless youth 12-24 years old), family promise ( a homeless families ministry), Western Farm Workers, Free Hot Soup, Camp Courage soldier boxes, a migrant camp, and multiple other food pantries.

It’s official we have officially reached our one year anniversary!!!!
As such we have decided to take this opportunity to update this GoFundMe to reflect where we now stand as an entity.
* With your help and our tax refund we were able to purchase a used 1999 Chevy Suburban and pay for the needed repairs. This truck allows us to not only make our average three trips to the farm weekly but to also make our weekly trip to Pepperidge Farms, regular trips to pick up Mission products, trips to pick up Grocery Outlet, weekly trips to New Seasons, and regular trips to Bethlehem House of Bread and other local food pantries.
* With your help we have been able to replace the smaller 10x10 tents with the new larger 10x20 tents. The new tents allow us more room for more food.
* With your help we were able to rock the side parking area to cut down on mud and prevent cars from getting stuck

So now that we have reached the one year mark we have reached a point where we can easily identify our expenses and outline more of our dreams for the future.
1. Gas for the suburban. - it cost on average $160 per month to fill the gas tank of the suburban.
$160 x 12 = $1920 per year
2. Insurance for the Suburban- the car insurance for the suburban averages $110 per month
$110 x 12 = $1320
3. AAA Oregon/Idaho membership for road service premier membership $183 annual membership
4. Electricity to power refrigerator $20 month
5. Rock to finish parking strip $250
6. Build cover for refrigerator $??
7. Build flooring in tents/install rock $??
8. Install lighting in tents
9. Replace outdoor refrigerator $???
10. Shelving for cabana for clothing outreach$???
11. Business cards $100
12. Signs $200
13. Begin not for profit conversion $600
This is a work in progress list. As in the past we are hoping and praying that our wonderful supporters, volunteers, visitors, and friends will help us with donations. We welcome not only monetary donations but donations of food, items, clothing, time and more.
Every dollar counts we greatly appreciate your continued support of our endeavor.
For months people have been asking me how they can help us in what we are doing. Until now we have been borrowing my parents vehicles to travel back and forth to the farm to pick up loads of food. This is becoming an issue as it frequently leaves my mother without a vehicle or my father without his work truck. We are in need of a truck of our own to transport the produce, cookies, crackers, and more. We are looking to purchase a used 3/4 ton, extended cab, pick-up truck. This way we will be able to transport a large amount of produce as well as our entire family to the farm for volunteering.
We are planning on using our tax refund to purchase the truck as soon as my broken brain finishes our taxes but we would appreciate any help in reaching our goal. Even a dollar will make it easier for us to purchase our truck.
In addition to the truck, we we are also in need of a couple of heavy duty metal wagons to help with transportation and loading at the farm. Again we are not looking for fancy or new, used is great.
