Hello all friends and family!
As many of you are aware, I have been diagnosed with my second round of cervical cancer. A healthy lifestyle with diet, exercise, and mental wellbeing cannot combat all genetic mutations, but this trifecta will definitely help me heal faster from the upcoming surgeries and treatment.
I am undergoing my first (and hopefully final) round of surgery on November 13th in my new hometown of Houston, Texas. I have found a great oncologist, and he and I are both confident that this cancer can be beaten. All warm and positive thoughts are definitely welcome during the surgery and recovery time.
While this is slowing me down in race times and boot camp, I will not let this beat me. As my alma mater Rose-Hulman puts it with their fundraising efforts, please ‘buy me a beer’! Any donation $5 to $50 is very appreciated to help me combat the medical bills. And please cheer me on to successfully finish (and PR) this race!
