Stu went surfing on Saturday morning and "duck dived" under a wave... and missed. ... and landed on his head into the sand.
He was transferred to Royal North Shore hospital (RNS), where is still is.
Result is a fractured T6 vertebrae (around ribcage).
Spinal cord is NOT damaged.
He is still undergoing tests to confirm that the vertebrae is ok and stable.
The prognosis is ok, but he is very lucky that the vertabrae didnt go into the spinal cord.
Current update is he will be in RNS on his back for 4 weeks with little or no movement allowed.
After that he will go home in a back cast of sorts to basically keep him immobile but able to move for another 8 weeks.
To take some of the stress of Maddy we would like to raise some money to provide for a regular cleaner & other household chores so they can concentrate on Stu recovering.
