Hurricane Matthew Cholera Relief

Donation protected
Hi there,
Im Barbara Wesson .
I have just taken over the fundraising challenges of the Haitian Children's fund.

Since 1983  The Haitian Children’s Fund, Inc. a 501(c)3 charity has been aimed at helping Haiti’s most important people, its children.

We need – now –
large supplies of rehydration powders to fight the cholera epidemic that must expand as a result of Hurricane Matthew.

For less than 49 cents a day you could save a life !
A real bargain in today's world inflation !

600 INDIVIDUAL TREATMENTS PER BOX
6 BOXES PER CASE
24 CASES PER PALLET
ONE PALLET = 14,400 INDIVIDUAL PACKETS

The Haitian Children's Fund has a long-term connection to a Pharmaceutical  Company in Florida that is ready to ship pallets of electrolyte powder for just under 6000 dollars a pallet.

The extra money we are requesting would cover shipping once it gets to Haiti, fees and the operational costs to get this accomplished.

Any extra funds raised over the immediate need will go toward our next fundraising effort for more pallets of Tioral, the product we are buying.

Unfortunately,  we anticipate a high level of long-term need of this product and will continue to raise funds for this issue as long as the need exists.

Unlike some other charities, the Haitian Children's Fund has years of  on the ground experience answering to both the short and long-term needs of the Haitian people.

For example, during the 2004 Hurricane Jeanne disaster, the HCF coordinated all container donations, for the Latortue government.

In January 12, 2010 when- in less than one minute - the shattering earthquake took over 300,000 lives and left millions homeless. The HCF was a catalyst between a number of key ONGs, distributing vast amounts of needed supplies throughout the devastated areas.

During October of 2010 MINUSTAH’s Nepalese battalion dumped raw fecal waste into the Artibonite River system. Within 3 days, Haitians downstream were struck by cholera, a previously unknown disease in Haiti. The epidemic accelerated rapidly, sweeping all 10 departments within a few months.

When cholera struck, the HCF provided the very first rehydration powders to the St Marc hospital treating the first cholera victims. This supply had been saved from the earthquake resources.

One of the key strengths, of the HCF, has been its understanding of both foreign and Haitian cultures. This allows it to act as a bridge in the complex interrelations between this proud, often misunderstood, nation and the International Community.

Haiti was faced with a pressing hunger challenge, before Matthew. Some were starving to death in Haiti’s Northwest, a mere 650 miles from Cape Canaveral. It now faces an overwhelming, possibly impossible challenge to save lives.

One is limited in what can be done by the resources available.

We hope that interested people, throughout the world, will step in to help our special friends in Haiti.

This is the first in a series of Gofundme campaigns we will be launching in the near future to fund the immediate and long-term challenges brought by Hurricane Mathew.

Haiti needs a lot of help to get it back to where it was, during the first week of October.

Carolle Tranchant, our President, is leading our team in Haiti.

There are no words to convey the appreciation we here at The Haitian Children's fund would have for your support.

Thank you for your time and consideration
