Norman's Fund 4 Cancer

The week of August 14th was suppose to be the best week of our lives. We had everything set to marry that Thursday the 18th. Monday was a follow up appointment to Norman's ongoing stomach issues and we were hoping to finally get answers. We got the answer that was our worst fear....cancer. We remained strong and positive and we just wanted to start the journey as soon as possible. We both wanted the same thing, for Norm to be healthy and out of pain.

About two weeks later after a series of tests they diagnosed him with stage 4 stomach cancer or poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. This type of cancer is aggressive and quick action is needed. Needless to say he started chemo therapy a week later. As a side effect of the tumors Norm has also developed hydronephrosis which is when one or both of your kidneys are not draining properly. In return this can cause severe pain in the back and stomach. Unfortunately for him both his kidneys are impacted and so far the stents he had put in aren't really working. We have another appointment set to figure out our next step.

So here we are now, fighting everyday in hopes that his chemo is working. Norm has had to stop working because of the pain, fatigue and nausea he gets throughout the day. Money raised on this page will help pay the high deductibles from our insurance and the portion of his medications that are not covered. Some of his medication are considered "specialty" medications like his chemo pills which he has to have. We appreciate all the love and support we receive from family and friends. God bless.
