I'm Jackie Williams, the wife of Dennis Williams. We live in Borrego Springs, California. Dennis is a retired Army Ranger , who likes to help other people. He really does. Right now Dennis is in Baton Rouge, Lousiana, and has teamed up with other volunteers through Calvary Chapel Relief. He is staying in a former gym ( https://youtu.be/POWNLJpbpoA )
that is now their base camp and has become a distribution center for donated goods to victims in the flood-ravaged areas of Baton Rouge, LA. Over 100,000 residents have suffered loss or have been displaced, which is over 30% of the area’s residences. https://youtu.be/ZFo-cZKiDIQ
Each day Dennis answers the call to do whatever needs to be done from shuttling volunteers to and from the airport to mucking out basements, knocking down moldy drywall, cooking and cleaning up after meals, unloading semi-trucks full of supplies, and the list goes on.
Fortunately, Dennis has a place to stay and his meals are being provided. He does need to purchase gas for his truck and he would like to fly home once a month to get some much needed rest, regroup with me, his wife , and prepare to go back again to Baton Rouge. He would like to return to California before the end of October in order to assist his church there, Borrego Springs Christian Center, prepare for their annual community outreach, The Harvest Festival. the donated funds will be deposited into our joint account that he has access to.
He hopes and plans on being a part of the Baton Rouge rebuilding team for the rest of 2016, at least. Pray about supporting him or joining a team to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
