Love for Cubmaster Maureen Riley
Donation protected
Most people know Ms. Riley through her longstanding commitment to her community, as our Cubmaster of 15+ years or as the mom who raised 4 fine sons. Most people know she lost her husband and best friend of nearly 40 years this past June. What people dont know is that Maureen is losing her home of 37 years. Their home was part of the salary Charley had as Resident Building Manager. What people dont know is that Maureen has to pay for health insurance for the first time in 42 years. What people don't know is that there are medical bills for Charley that the insurance won't cover.
How many of our children, some of them now grown men, has Maureen touched through her work with the Cubscouts? Hundreds, probably thousands. This is our chance to say thank you, to give back to the woman who helped shape so many boys into fine young men through her sincere efforts using good old scouting values.
Let's help cushion her transition to her new 'normal' and show her how much we appreciate all she has done.
