Help me get an accessible vehicle

Hello!! My Name is Katherin Sabbagh, I'm 35 years old living in Miami. Florida, I’m paraplegic due to a neurological condition called Schwannomatosis (NF). Allow me to share with you a bit about myself and my story... Everything goes back when I was 18 years old and was preparing to graduate from high school. I was about to start my journey in the world but those dreams were cut short when I began experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back. This severe pain radiated to other body parts of my lower extremities when I coughed, sneezed, or simply laughed. The pain got persistent and progressive quickly sending me to doctors and having several tests until finally a MRI showed a series of tumors in my cervical and lumbar spine level. Life stopped and It turned to the worse!!! My professional dreams and personal life became a distant dream, while many of my friends went away to college to start the second phase of their lives, l spent my days in and out of hospitals, tests, doctors appointments, physical therapy and more.

Over the past 16 years I have experienced a total of 22 surgeries, which 18 of them have been performed on my spine. Each procedure has left me in a different physical state, but without losing my faith, good sense of humor or strength to fight each of this situations. I’ve spent a large amount of my life in pain and rehabilitating either as quadriplegic, paraplegic or some other type of consequences. Each time my resilience has helped me to regain my independence.

While I have never let any of this discourage me or the fact of having a disadvantage. I have worked extremely hard the last three years since my last surgery in order to restart my life and live it as "normal" as possible. I recently enrolled in an art institute to become a Fashion designer in hopes of one day help people with physical limitations. It has been extremely difficult to travel to and from appointments; as well as, my commitment at school which requires to be on time. Unfortunately using public or special transportation has not been of any help at all. There are times that I have to sit three to four hours before reaching my destination. As you can understand is very upsetting and frustrating while is also making my independence as a person and goals harder to achieve.
I've never asked for help through the years of this helpless condition... but this time around, I need your HELP, in other to have a safe wheelchair accessible vehicle to fulfill all of my daily life activities, projects and dreams, such as, therapies, doctors’ appointments, classes and professional projects. This vehicle will help me to commute quickly and efficiently to my destinations as well as regain my life back.  So please help me reach my goal, any amount will be well appreciated. Share this page with whoever you think would like to give me a hand. Thank you for your generosity and God bless you!!!
