Help YDHS kids see the world!

Have you ever had the opportunity to travel? Do you remember how it changed how you saw other people, appreciated other cultures and your own, changed the trajectory of your life?

Twelve committed students at Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School are getting ready to embark on that same journey. These are kids for whom travel outside of Juneau or outside of Alaska isn't always an option.  Every donation goes directly to helping a student get that much closer to seeing the world!

Yaakoosge Daakahidi High School is in Juneau, Alaska. Our name means "House of Learning" and comes from the Tlingit culture of our area.

Our school is an amazing collection of kids from all over Juneau. They come to our school because they want a smaller school setting, they might be behind in credits due to various life circumstances, they might have been out of school and are coming back to complete their high school diploma.  We have about 85-95 students at any time throughout the year; about half qualify for free/reduced lunch.

For the first time in the school's history, one of the teachers decided to take the plunge and organize a trip to Europe for spring 2017 for interested students. The group will be visiting Berlin, Prague, Krakow, and Budapest in March with 2 staff members and under the umbrella of EF Tours.

All money raised goes directly to fund a student's trip - and they're already busy with extra hours at their job and planning other fundraising events as a group.
