VVA 542 New Bus for Veterans

Chapter 542 of the Vietnam Veterans of America is a 300+ member non-profit (501(C)(19)) organization in Harrisburg, PA.  Pictured is our current bus, a 25-passenger vehicle that has seen its best years; any day now it will likely reach the end of its useful life.  It is over 20 years old.

We are looking to raise funds for a new bus.  The new one will be a little smaller and equipped to transport handicapped people; to date we have had to ask our handicapped members to look for alternate transport, something that does not sit well with any veterans group.  The new vehicle will also be more efficient to operate and much cheaper to maintain.

The new vehicle costs about $65,000, and to date we have managed to raise about $40,000 toward that.  It has already been ordered so we are trying to fund the remaining monies needed for the purchase.

This bus is used not only by our Chapter, but also by several other veterans groups we make it available to upon request.
