Rainier Therapeutic Riding provides therapeutic horsemanship programs to America's active duty and veteran service members. At RTR we serve Veterans from the JBLM area. Since we are so close to Post we are experiencing growth at an unexpected rate. We have never had to turn away a Veteran who wanted to participate in the program. Due to this unexpected growth we may now have to do that for the first time in the history of this program. Without the funds to help with the costs associated to run this program we will have to turn away Soldiers who are asking desperately for help. They come to us broken, in fear of never being "normal" again. Often they don't understand why they feel the way they do. We are seeing a rise in the number of Veterans returning with PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injuries. They often do not understand the depth of their restrictions while they are still in the service. It is years afterwards sometimes before they reach out for help. We provide a safe place for these Veterans to interact both with eachother and with their horses. They take on these horses as their own personal project. These horses give these Veterans a purpose again. One rider told us that she had spent 8 years in therapy at a traditional therapists office and only felt that she was getting worse, not better. After just 8 weeks with our program she felt that she had made more progress with her horse than she had in 8 years of therapy. These programs work and we need your help to serve as many Veterans as possible. Please consider donating to help heal our Nations Veterans. The need is urgent and the time is Now. As Veterans day is approaching please help us reach our goal  of raising these funds to expand our program and help more Veterans next session.

Our Volunteers tell us that this program helps them to deal with their own ailments. The feel that working with our Veterans the way they do helps them to better understand what they are going through. The connection between horse and man is an amazing one that cannot always be explained in words. The smiles on the faces of our Veterans say it all sometimes. Please help us to share this experience with more Veterans by donating and sharing this Fundraising campaign.

We are steadily getting closer to our goal. My hope is to reach this goal by Thanksgiving. Please share with your friends and on your own Facebook page and help us reach our goal. One of our riders was telling me just the other day that they don't know where they would be without this program. That if they had this program shortly after they were injured they would have healed faster and could have saved their career. We see this everyday. We are helping our Soldiers heal. Please be a part of this.
The smile says it all...

Today is Veterans Day! Please help me say Thank You to my fellow Veterans past and present by donating to this program that promotes healing through horses. Everyday around the barn we hear stories of Veterans who say they had nowhere else to turn. They tell us that they were looking at suicide as their only option until they found us, I am one of those Veterans. Often we think that there is just no more purpose to our life after the service. The thoughts in our heads and the limitations to our physical selves are just too much. Without support there is really no hope. RTR offers hope where there is really nothing else. Programs like this do not exist everywhere and often Veterans cannot find them if they do exist. Please help me in supporting this program that brings back life to our Veterans. Today is the day! What better way to say Thank You to a Veteran than to support hope and healing, and give them back their future. You can be a real part of healing for our Veterans.
Thank You Veterans!
