Please Help Me Get to Finland to Deliver a Research Paper on Blasphemy and Social Media
I have been invited to the Rationalist International Conference in Helsinki, which will take place between the 12th and 13th of May. I have been asked to present a Master’s research paper I am writing on blasphemy and social media. The paper predominantly focuses on the impact social media has on policing and exposing blasphemy in the Muslim world, with specific attention given to the spate of arrests of ex-Muslims and secularist Muslims in recent years. The speech will also offer useful tips on how to protect anonymity for ex-Muslims and secularist Muslims in the Muslim world, and how social media operators and administrators can assist in this regard. As I have just returned to Australia after spending 13 years in Japan, my finances are somewhat strained. I am humbly asking people who have the available capital to help me get to Finland to deliver this paper. Rationalist International will cover some of my costs, however I still need at least $3,000 for airfare, food and transportation (taxis, buses, trains, etc.) in Finland.
