Dear Gainesville Friends,
Many of you know that Randy and Janet Akerson have been close friends of my family for over 20 years. Randy and Janet own Burrito Brothers Taco Co and their business is in trouble. While I'm incredibly upset that a restaurant serving some of the best food on the planet is in jeopardy, this is more personal for me.
Randy and Janet Akerson are the kind of small business owners every town needs. They are humble, grateful to their customers and dedicated to the community. They are kind, generous and fair to their employees and unwilling to compromise on the quality of their product. Their food is so good, they have survived in an incredibly competitive market for 40 years purely by word-of-mouth advertising.
Anyone who owns a small business knows that the profit margin is slim and over the past year, constuction of the Standard project has decimated Burrito Brother's to the point of closing their doors. Because the City of Gainesville has taken little initiative, I have started this page. Any amount will help and 100% of anything raised will go directly to keeping BBTC's doors open.
