For those of you who have the pleasure of knowing or sharing a friendship with my mum Lynne Allen Sims, you all know what a kind hearted, generous person she is. She is always there to lend an ear or offer help and advice to those who need it.
Mums life has been affected by illness for the last 20 years but she now finds herself in a desperate situation where she needs to have extreme and delicately complicated surgey on her spine to stop herself from being wheelchair bound for life. She needs a Kyphoscoliosis correction and segmental fixation with bone graft.
To put it simply her spine has a degenrative disformity which if left alone will rapidly get worse, severing her spinal chord. Her spine at the moment is in an S shape and she spends all of her days everyday fighting pain and suffering constantly unable to do normal daily tasks we all take for granted. Having this surgery will be life changing for mum.
Unfortunately though, Mums condition is so severe that she cannot wait to have this done in the public system so we need to urgently raise funds to get this life changing surgery happening as soon as possible. She is booked in for surgery at the end of October and we need to raise $10,000 for the out of pocket expenses associated with the surgery and recovery.
The thought of her being wheelchair bound for life is too much to bear.
If everyone is able to donate just a couple of dollars, whatever you can afford, any donation big or small, will help to change Mums life.
