Education for a Better Tomorrow
Hi there, my name is Xeyiing and I am a Malaysian student currently studying at the University of Melbourne. I am writing to tell you about the 'Wisdom Park' project by Nalanda Buddhist Society.
Nalanda Buddhist Society is currently planning for an integrated educational and training centre for the Malaysian community. The spacious 26-acre 'Wisdom Park' will be equipped with facilities for various training programmes aimed at transmitting knowledge, skills, values and culture. It will also have residential facilities for full-time Dhamma practitioners and long-term volunteers. The park is located in Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor, an hour north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I have personally benefitted from and been part of the many efforts of Nalanda Buddhist Society and have witness the many wonderful transformation of education. The goal at Nalanda Buddhist Society, is the attainment of wisdom to realise truth. The Buddha spent 45 years educating and guiding the communities so that people can 'see the truth' for themselves. The Buddha called this the "miracle of education" - and the only miracle which He approved. I believe that this project will bring invaluable benefits to the community as education is key to the construction of a better tomorrow.
The funds raised from this campaign will be used in the purchasing of land for the 'Wisdom Park'. Nalanda has secured the land and the time frame for full payment is due on the 2 November 2015. The total cost of the land is RM 2,841,400 and we have, at the moment ( 1 October 2015) raised RM 230,000. We do not have much time and I urge all kind donors to do the best to your abilities. Any amount is very much appreciated and will be put into meaningful use.
