In response to requests from numerous kind and compassionate friends, I am creating this Go Fund Me account for Jennifer Campbell.
Yesterday afternoon, Jennifer Campbell underwent surgery to amputee her left leg. This was Jennifer's 12th amputation (all ten fingertips and both legs) in the past two years following a life threatening bout with sepsis. Jennifer battled through numerous surgeries to save her left foot before it became necessary to amputate. Despite this outcome, Jennifer's sweet personality hasn't dampened a bit. She could not be more determined to return to the classroom teaching her precious fifth grade students and up and walking again very very soon.
As some of you may know, Jennifer's first prosthetic foot was the standard-issue style. She was blessed beyond measure to learn to walk again on this new foot, yet it didn't allow her to maneuver hills, inclines, or uneven surfaces such as gravel. And it didn't allow her to jog or run. Several months ago, she was fitted for the upgrade-style foot called a "blade" foot. Man, what a difference that made in her mobility! Unfortunately, it was not covered by her insurance plan.
My hope in setting up this donation fund is to raise the cost of a matching blade foot for her left leg. With two blade feet, Jennifer will experience mobility outside of a wheelchair that will allow her to keep up with her two busy children at home as well as numerous lively ten year olds everyday at school!
I can't even tell you how much Jennifer appreciates everyone's thoughts and prayers during this season in her life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity.
