My name is Keshawn Jordan and I am an activist, a messenger and the mother of 3 young children.
When I first started this journey of bringing awareness to my community, I had a full-time job, working 40 to 50 hours a week as a Senior Customer Service Collection Agent for H&R Block. I was paid 14.50 an hour and had a gross monthly income of roughly 2600.00 dollars a month. After 2 years of service, I was laid off from H&R Block. I was devasted, but I found employment working for a company called Renzenberger working as a dispatcher. After 2 months of service... I was fired. They said it's for something else, but I know it was for speaking the truth on my social media platform. That was June 2015. That was my last full-time job. I've been working menial jobs here and there ever since.
I never thought that so many negative things could happen in my life. Bright eyed and bushy tailed I jumped head first into the fight for justice for people who look like me. I was excited. But speaking the truth came with an ugly price. I quickly realized that when you speak out against the injustices that people of color face in the way that I do, you gain a lot of unseen enemies. Some that will underhand you and keep you from progressing.
This past year has been the hardest for me and my family. Jobs keep firing me or not hiring me at all saying that it's for a good reason but I know it's because I speak. I apply for a job that I am qualified for... Kill the interview, but never get a callback. Not being able to do for my children because I have no income coming in. I've been doing all I can to make money every day just to feed my kids. For example, like Donating plasma, selling advertising space on my social media platform, selling my personal belongings, you name it. All because I spoke up.

I'm asking for your help with my living expenses and to help get my business off the ground as I continue to put my life and well-being on the line for my people. I will continue to speak the truth but I need your help to do so. Those who follow me closely may have noticed that I haven't been as active these past few months and now you know why. You may have seen the press release I shared on my page announcing that I hired a management/consultant company in order to help take me further than I would go on my own. And because they believe in me, they've agreed to manage and consult me pro-bono because of my current financial situation.
