Helping Heroes
Every day, there are new stories being told. It seems the good stories are being swept aside for terror and ratings. Let's change that. Let's make it known that our heroes, our police, our firefighters and veterans all deserve better. Let us show them we are here for them.
Everyday, our men and women in blue stand vigilant, ready and willing to put themselves between us and evil. They stand guard for our sake, our children's sake and the community as a whole is better for having them. Let us show we are here for THEM.
Our firefighters, they are more than just that. They don't just fight fires. They save our valuables, our homes, our community, our pets and even save us. They train constantly, they put themselves in harm's way for us. Let's show we are here for THEM as well.
Our veterans. The shepards of our freedom. Like the sheepdog that keeps the wolf at bay, they stand in the way of evil and tyranny so that we may continue to live out our lives of freedom.
The American Legion of Aston, continues to help those veterans of war in so many ways. The Legions programs stretch across our community to help those in need. Let us show we can be there to help our veterans as well.
All those who have served, are serving, is a police officer, a firefighter or even a volunteer, I salute you. As an Army veteran myself, I understand why you do the things you do. So thank you.
The three highest funds will receive a hand made 36"x20" wooden flag. 6 total will be made. 2 of which will have the thin red line painted on representing our firefighters. 2 of which will the thin blue line painted on, representing our police. And the other 2 will be of the original 13 colony, Betsy Ross style flag, representing our veterans. The 3 winners of the flags will have the choice to be with me when I present each of the departments and the American Legion with the donations and one of the respective flags.
All funds will be split 3 ways, and every cent is going to this cause. In case of a tie, the tied funders names will be chosen randomly for the flag. Let's show our heroes we can be there for them too. Thank you all.
