Welcome to Pads For a Purpose, a foundation I created to provide menstrual-hygiene products to women in need.
No woman should feel embarrassed, ashamed, degraded or undignified for having a period. No woman should be forced to stay home from work or school because they don’t have the means to take care of themselves while on their period. We must start treating menstrual-hygiene products as necessities that all women deserve.
Recently, NYC passed legislation mandating that prisons, schools, and shelters provide free menstrual-hygiene products. This is a HUGE WIN for the menstrual equality movement! However, this is not being enforced until at least January of 2017.
Join me in this mission to help make pads and tampons more readily available to women in need. I am collaborating with CAMBA, a non-profit agency that runs women's shelters throughout NYC, as well as Care for the Homeless, and will be donating period packs to both of them at least once a month. Any donation you can contribute (either money, pads, tampons, or liners) would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. $1,000 can buy at least 5,000 tampons and pads! Please private message me if you would like to be more involved, send a donation, or help me make the period packs.

It is with your continued support and collaboration that we will be able to make a difference in the lives of homeless women. I dream of a world where a foundation like this is not needed, but until then, lets get women the products they need!
