Hello Everyone! My name is Rochelle L. Williams also known as Rochelle La'Ray on FB...many of you have known me for a very long time and many of you, I have met along my travels to Delaware, Philadelphia, New York and Florida over the years.
In 1997 I traveled to New York with a dream to one day become a Broadway sensation, well needless to say I performed on off-off Broadway shows, produced my own venue called Vintage Stage in Greenwich Village and danced for various Dance companies. While in New York I trained voraciously 3 times a day for 11 years.
After my knee injury in 2006...I decided to make my way back to Lancaster, PA in 2008 feeling defeated. I thought that I had failed... failed myself as there was nothing I wanted more than to Dance.
But what I hadn't realized was that sometimes GOD will make things so bad for you, that you have no choice but to walk away. Instead of walking into defeat, I was actually walking into Victory but it took me 8 years to realize that.
You see, GOD provided me the vitamins that were needed to be able to come home to Lancaster, Pa and provide our children with the dance training that was afforded to me. These children are talented beyond belief but are displaced due to the lack of dance schools available to them in the inner city, due to the lack of funds available to their parents that will give them a shot at their dreams.
I for one know what it is like not to be able to train as a dancer as a child because my grandparents could not afford to send me. So I started my dream at 24 years old...but blessed with natural born talent to speed up the process.
This fundraiser is to provide the children of our community an opportunity at having a chance at life, a chance to give them direction, bringing them out of their quiet shell, away from the computer or games, a chance at good health, away from the streets, away from bad choices and a chance at staying alive!

Bullying, drugs and alcohol, sex, abuse, gangbanging, guns...
My goal is to give our children an outlet, an alternative, a discipline and empowerment to help them to believe and achieve anything they want in life.
I was given that chance by my grandparents and It is my job to pass the torch.
So, by November 1, 2016 I am attempting to raise funds in order to open the first inner city Dance Studio for children located in a beautiful neighborhood just downtown. The rent is $1675.00 a month with utilities and taxes included. I just need the money to open up. I have already gone and looked at the space and the Property Managers are waiting on me.
This has always been a dream of mine and most of you have been asking me for years to do this and NOW is the time. It would mean the world to me for this dream to become a reality and we used to live in a society where the Village raised the child and now we are so separated!
We need to bring back that mentality...don't wait until they are suicidal, killed or dead from an overdose...let's pay attention to what they are saying and if they want to dance...then let them!
Dance does wonders for the attitude! It promotes social skills and discipline.
A chance for children of all races, ethnicities, religions, social and financial status welcome...it's time to UNITE as a culture and not be so seperate. We need to speak the universal language of LOVE the way GOD intended and I am only here to do his will.
