Fighting to Survive ... A Challenge

Donation protected

This is a story of pain and suffering. My name is Lisa. My husband is Erik. We are both disabled and having to fight to make the most basic of needs.

I am a US Army Veteran and when I was working, we lost Erik's SSI due to  the gross income was too much that I made. Now the reason that I put  gross income in bold is simple, that is the way that everything is figured. The amount that you can make to get food assistance, the amount that you can make for rent assistance all is based on gross income.

My disability has gotten to the point to where I am no longer able to work. Employers don't want people who are pain medications on the job. Employers don't want people who have problems that they need to be able to take medications just to function. My last employer made that totally clear to me.

When I tried to get jobs after I lost the one that I had,  I was told repeatedly that I didn't meet the qualifications. I have an AAS in Medical Records and I have the training of the US Army on my side. I have been trained in things that my family benefits from, when someone has a problem with their Android device, I can 8 out of 10 times fix it for them. They have computer problems, I am the one they call first. Something doesn't look right on a bill they call me so how am I not qualified to do most of the jobs that I try for - my medical conditions.

I ask questions. When I see that there is a potentional problem, I try to fix it. My last employer was saved a lot of money by my digging into information - but I was let go. Their reason was I wasn't doing the job fast enough but I saved them several thousands of dollars by not setting up bad accounts.

We have stuff on  eBay  under the handle thesagas.  I have tried to do stuff on Esty and had no luck.  Our landlord keeps pushing the rent up and my in-laws are paying most of our bills.

I have tried offering services in doing office stuff to people who have helped us and get turned down.

We are both trying to get on Social Security. Erik is trying to get his SSI back and I am trying to get on SSDI and we are stuck in the waiting loop.

The state of Washington says that my VA disability check is too much to state assistance. So we are stuck on limited (less than $300.00 per month) income to deal with everything.

I don't even have enough to get the good cat food that my cat deserves.

I am wanting to pay some funds back to my in-laws  for all that they have done. I would like to be able to take care of my family and I am having so many problems. We don't have anything to pawn {We already have} and we are stuck.
