Delgado Party of FIVE!

On August 31, 2016 Mark and Jody Delgado became the proud new parents of a beautiful 15 y/o teenaged GIRL! She was delivered to their family by stork! This was not something that they "planned", but rather something powerful that God orchestrated and lay at the family's feet. Something that they simply couldn't say no to and wait for "someone else" to help this child in need. We all know 15 year olds don't have a very good chance at getting adopted. And she would, sadly, "age out" of the foster care system very soon. It was a decision that was not entered into lightly and one that would impact their entire family forever. Children aren't like puppies that get returned after Christmas for a refund! This is forever! It has been in the works for what seems like an eternity! And it finally came to fruition on a Wednesday afternoon in August... just DAYS before this child's 16th birthday! This precious child of God was going to be a part of a family. Their family! They surprised her at the shelter where she has been living (let that sink in. A child living in a shelter! ALL ALONE! In a great BIG WORLD with no one but strangers around her)! It goes without saying that a HUGE prayer was answered and there were HUGE tears! She packed up what little belongings she owned and went HOME with her FOREVER FAMILY! Mark and Jody heard the call & chose to take a leap of faith and be obedient to God...whether they thought they had the financial resources or not! God will provide- after all, when you look into her eyes, you are certain this child is THEIRS! You see Delgado eyes staring innocently back at you! This will not be an easy road, but she will know (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that she IS wanted, loved, and safe from this day forward! Please consider praying for the Delgado family. That would be the most amazing gift you could possibly give. The past trauma and pain she has endured is unspeakable and unbearable. The family saved this beautiful girl's life and her scars can heal!

Here's what you don't know- the day before this child was set to come home with them, Mark and Jody received devastating (or blessed- depending on how you look at it) news. Their landlord made the decision to sell his rental property where the family has been living since their home sold sooner than anticipated. This new "party of five" is going to be homeless! In 30 short days!!! On top of existing life stressors, financial obligations, new medical issues with which to contend, and a new teenaged girl to raise, they now have to find a new home when they are not financially prepared. God must want the family to have a fresh NEW START! Rather than this beautiful soul trying to "fit into" their family and home as an "outsider", I feel they are all being asked to literally MOVE (quickly) out of their comfort zone together. They are being picked up and relocated. What a gift for them to be chosen by God to raise this new child. This is something that simply cannot, should not, and will not be "undone" because of an unforeseen financial curve ball. She will NOT go back to the shelter! She has never had a mom and never had a home. Bounced around from place to place with no stability and, obviously, through no fault of her own. Please won't you consider giving any available resources you have to a child in need of a happy and permanent ending??
