Hurricane Hermine Relief

https://www.facebook.com/CedarKeyBar/ ‌Hello there. My name is Rosanna Flecker, part time employee of The Black Dog Bar and Tables. The Black Dog is in the quaint little gulf side town of Cedar Key, FL. We took a beating, as did the rest of the Island, compliments of Hurrican Hermine this past Friday morning. The little pet friendly cigar bar featuring a large selection of micro brew beers, cigars and fine wines was a popular spot to enjoy music, a game of chess, cornhole, watch sports, mingle, fish off the back deck and watch the dolphins play, just to name a few. This place is not only my part time job but my happy place. I quite often refer to it as "MY bar" but more often than not you will find owner TJ Boyle behind the bar. With a small on his face he will charm you with tales featuring the adventures of his North Florida family that helped settle these here parts and stories of his days as a New York Chef. The atmosphere, and staff (just TJ and I) and the clientelle are as laid back as it comes. While we aren't exactly a mom and pop establishment, we are more accurately considered a friend and friend establishment. I've been with The Black Dog since 2011 and when TJ took over I came with it it. TJ is not only the boss but my friend. We trust each other and so the operation runs smoothly. I don't even consider it work. I get to hang out in my favorite island spot with a gorgeous view. I get to mingle with custoners, talk about beer, wine and Cigars all while getting paid. It couldn't get any more perfect.
The storm surge and 80 MPH winds wiped out the enterance to the eccentric little Pub as well as plumbing and electrical issues. There was also water damage and inventory lost. While TJ, the sole proprietor and only full time employee, was self insured, the loss of income, property damage and inventory is preventing us from opening back up to start generating income. With the 3rd Annual Pirate Festival right around the corner We need your help to get up and running again. At the moment you can't even access the building since the steps and landing were found 3 streets over. That is our first obstacle. Then funds will be disbursed to repair The plumbing and electrical issue. Any funds available after that will go towards restocking our inventory. We are very limited at the moment and would like to get as close to our normal  variety of over 100 micro brews beers, wine and cigars as possible in time for pirate festival. Lost wages are not our main concern. If we can get open before the pirate festival we can start generating income. The Black Dog has always held a piece of my heart and the devestation is heart breaking, so many memories and good times have blessed us and our patrons within the red walls of this place. Please help TJ and I get our little bar up and running again. Any donations, small or large are greatly appreciated. Hope to see you at the Black Dog very soon.
