Books for Chandan

My name is David Roberts and I'm a mathematician at the University of Adelaide. A couple of years ago our library decided to throw out a large number of mathematics books in a series it has electronic access to: over 2000 of them. Thankfully, we were informed and so there was a big rush to save the particular books that we wanted a hard copy of. These books date back to the early 60s and are largely Springer's "Lecture Notes in Mathematics" and the American Mathematical Society's "Contemporary Mathematics".
When I posted online about this, Chandan Dalawat, a mathematician in India, asked if I could grab some in his area of speciality. He quickly compiled a list of the relevant volumes, and I got as many of them as I could. I now have approximately 100 books -- about 75kg worth -- to ship to Allahabad, India, which is why I'm looking to raise some funds.
Some of these books are available to buy in reprints, and some only as e-books, and the e-books already cost US$45 each (approx 3000 Rupees). Based on current economic, a qualified and skilled worker would have to spend something like half a year's wage to buy the books I have saved and want to send to Chandan. The books themselves will be part of a specialised research library, not just for personal use, so they will have a wide and long-lasting impact on mathematics education and reasearch in the area.
I have been quoted AU$1250 for shipping by DHL, point-to-point, and we believe that there are no additional customs fees as these are educational books. However, there were some books I could not get from Chandan's list, so if we raise more than necessary, we will purchase those books directly (in hard copy, second-hand if necessary). Any additional donations will be put towards a book fund.
UPDATE: I'm thinking of creating a bookplate for each donor that will go into one of the books that are shipped over. I will design them and then they can be inserted after unboxing over in India. If we get to the point of buying copies of the needed volumes that I couldn't originally get, then the new donors past that point will have their named bookplates put into the new books. NB: If you want to opt out then let me know in the comments when you donate.
