Make A Way For Shay

As a strong and proud mother of 9 children, Sharonda has been an inspiration for anyone who has had the chance to witness her grace and dignity while overcoming and persevering through the multitude of hardships she has encountered. For so many, she has been their rock, their safe place and solace in time of need, even in the midst of her own battles. These past few years alone, the Garrett-Meade clan has endured through several tragedies, medical emergencies, learning to uniquely care for a special needs child, her son, Asher's, battle against cancer and several other obstacles, of which, most of us would crumble beneath the weight. But amidst the rubble and ashes, one steadfast and courageous woman makes the choice to rise above it all and keep her eyes fixed upon her faith and love for her family.
Now, after a difficult and emotional past 3 months, struggling with further health complications of her little trooper, Asher, she has been blindsided with another heavy blow. On Wednesday, August 31st, while Shay and her daughter, Tatyana, quickly ran into the Clackamas Kohls to exchange an item, her 1995 Honda Accord was stolen, along with several personal items. Among them was a specialised car seat that is uniquely designed to accommodate Asher's special needs and ensure his safety in the car as well as his jogging stroller. Shay is now faced with the short and long term replacement of her car, a specialised car seat, stroller and other items lost on top of collaborating with authorities to bring the individual who committed this crime to justice. For a woman who has endured so much and carries the weight of her world with such poise and dignity, it is agonising to see her struggle and suffer again a and again through all these troubles. Let us all come together and lift her up above the storm, not just financially helping her through this new battle, but in prayer and kindness. Not just for her children, although they deserve this love and compassion just as much, but for the woman who has held their world together through the darkest days and hardest moments with a beautiful smile on her face and a hand lifted in praise to a God that is so good. Bring forth blessings for her and her family in anyway we can offer, from the smallest gesture of a kind word to the greatest acts of sacrifice. Let's make a way for Shay to keep moving toward and away from these struggles.
