Betwixt and Between Tour

We are Carlisle Evans Peck and Abby LeGare, two singer-songwriters from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Carlisle is a pianist and composer, Abby (you may know her as Ginger Bones) is a guitarist and drummer. Through September, we'll be embarking on a great tour of the western United States; North Dakota, Montana, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado. Following in the tradition of centures of bards and storytellers, we're bringing our songs to the road! We're playing in living rooms, parks, and porches, we're seeing old friends and making new ones, we're weaving new stories. Our goal is sharing our art with YOU, hear what you have to say (or sing!), and maintain this very ancient form of cultural exchange and community.
This photo here is of my Great Great Great Aunt, Mae Wilson, on her way to Hollywood in April of 1920. She carried her music and her acting on a great tour of the west. With only a spare few photographs from her trip, it's hard to know specifically what happened. All that we can see is candid moments of awe, joy, community, and intimacy; sharing her art and her life with friends new and old.
This sharing, betwixt and between people and places, is what is most important. This isn't about the end product or the destination, but rather the PROCESS, and the JOURNEY.
But we need your help! To keep this trip going we'll need hugs and encouragement and well wishes, yes, but we need some money too! You know, for gasoline, for printing more zines or more CDs, for emergency ice cream cones. If you're able to catch us in person at one of our stops, GREAT! WE'D LOVE TO SEE YOU! But if not, you can still support us and participate in our music RIGHT HERE! With some neat-o perks:
$5 gets you a bandcamp download code for my album "Ekphrasis" (you can listen here! Ekphrasis)
$10 gets you a Carlisle or Ginger postcard with a poem, from wherever we may be! (we take requests)
$15 and we'll write and videotape a song about you. (maybe with costumes)
$20 gets you Ginger Bones' "Trains Over Movies" EP AND a live recording of Carlisle Evans Peck and His Orchestra (with Abby on drums!)
$30 gets you the "Ekphrasis" CD + photo and poetry zine.
If you donate more than $50, we might just have to come play in your living room and give you a great big hug in person.
As musicians, movement and travel is in our blood (in this case, it's literally in our lineage!) Abby and I are so excited for the opportunity to follow this dream and share our songs with you, just like Great Aunt Mae before us. We are humbled and grateful to be in such beautiful company.
